About The Captain

Drue is a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain that spent his early years fly fishing in a creek that ran behind his house in Kansas. By the age of 14, he was working part time at his local fly shop, K&K Flyfishers. Shortly thereafter, a family trip to Belize exposed Drue to world of saltwater flats fishing. After high school, he moved to Breckenridge, Colorado to begin his guiding career for Mountain Angler. Once established in Colorado, Drue went on to explore guiding in other locations. With 8 seasons in Colorado, 2 seasons in the U.S. Virgin Islands and 1 season guiding in New Zealand under his belt…he set his sights on the Florida Keys. Once he experienced the world class fishing the keys has to offer, he knew he had to move down. Drue now spends 9 months of his year in the Florida Keys and 3 months in Colorado.
